URBAN RETREAT
A couple on the verge of becoming empty nesters wanted to relocate to a central part of town as they continued to build their careers and welcome adult children and extended family to enjoy their downtown property. The existing 1920s cottage was fully renovated on the ground level with a kitchen and dining room update and a primary suite to accommodate aging in place. Emphasis was placed on indoor-outdoor living with seamless connections to outdoor space and a priority to increase access to daylight. Also included in the project was the addition of a mudroom and garage to allow for seamless day-to-day living.
