dV2 Studio added a 2 story addition to a Victorian Farmhouse in the Woodland Heights neighborhood of Richmond, as a fresh start for a homeowner looking to welcome friends and family while also establishing a place for sanctuary in a dense urban environment. The project established a modern approach to a traditional farmhouse aesthetic, with glassy facades to maximize daylight, connections to the outdoors, and open space planning to accommodate entertaining guests. The project became centered around a 2 story corner window that embraced the canopy of an existing Crepe Myrtle and created a lush visual connection to the outdoors.
