WALNUT TREEHOUSE

dV2 Studio added a second story addition to a 1950s house to accommodate a young family’s desire to stay in a central location within walking distance to major local amenities. Scope included full demolition of the existing roof, a new 2-story stair, and a full level 2 addition consisting of 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The design was centered on the premise that the addition should maximize transparency and distribute daylight on both levels. The addition also celebrates the house’s relationship to existing mature walnut trees in an expansive backyard and the existing hemlock and dogwood trees.
